Daniel High School kicked off their celebration of Black History Month welcoming Pastor Mark Livingston. He is someone who reminds people that meaningful change often begins quietly—with faith, courage, and a deep love for people. His message was centered on unity, perseverance, and loving the process of becoming your best self. Pastor Mark's message starts a month of celebration at Daniel High School, highlighting the contributions and positive attributes of black leaders around the world.
During Pastor Mark's message, students were engaged by the reading of an excerpt of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr's "I Have A Dream" speech. Pastor Mark related King's dream back to the students. "He said he had dream, not that he had a plan. . . plans can change. He didn't say he had proof because proof comes later." Pastor Mark also spent time speaking to students about using moments in their lives to propel them into positive change points. "Maybe the people in your life that you think are being hard on you want the best for you. Pressure does not mean pause, struggle does not mean you're failing. It may just mean you're being built."
