On April 21, a group of students from D.W. Daniel High finished first in the Clemson Calculus Challenge. The team consisted for seniors Anna Corontzes, Jesse Jiang, and Delaney McCallum, along with juniors Benjamin Buck, Manav Jain, Jacob Jensen, Connor Lehmacher, and Ian Ruohoniemi.
All are students in Mr. Ken Nolen’s AP Calculus class at Daniel. In addition to winning the school competition, Daniel had five of the top thirteen finishers. Connor Lehmacher took first place, Ian Ruhoniemi finished third, Jesse Jiang fifth, Jacob Jensen tenth, and Benjamin Buck thirteenth.
Of the three seniors on the team, Anna is planning on attending Clemson University, Jesse will be continuing his schooling at Georgia Tech, and Delaney is planning to enroll at Northwestern University this fall. Congratulations to all of these students and to Mr. Nolen for his work with the team.
