Guided Pathway Support Program for African American Juniors and Seniors

GPS is a free college access initiative that empowers African American high school students to navigate the college admissions process. Using “High tech and High touch” approach, GPS directs students to the most comprehensive reliable resources available via online mentoring. They are currently accepting applications until May 31. Come to the guidance office for info in how to apply.

Pickens County Youth Board

 Pickens County Youth Board is a leadership group of high school students from the Pickens County high schools whose mission is to educate the community, especially the youth on the dangers of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug abuse as well as to plan and provide drug-free activities. The PCYB also provides its members with leadership skills development. Members are selected based on their application, letters of recommendation, interview, and leadership potential.

The deadline to apply is Friday, May 26, 2017. See Mrs. Meehan in the guidance office for an information packet.


2017 Summer Transportation Institute “Building the Future Transportation Workforce”

Benedict college will host this 4-week residential summer program designed for rising 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students and will be held June 4 -29. The purpose is to create awareness and stimulate interest in the transportation industry. Get more information in the guidance office.

One Life Institute at Southern Wesleyan University

SWU is now accepting applications for potential students for their fall OneLife program. The OneLife gap year program is designed for 18-21 year old young men and women who want to grow their faith, experience community, serve others, and travel while earning 24 college credits. Summer Reading Skills and Speed Reading Programs

Programs for Preschool through High School are being offered by Clemson University’s Center for Corporate Learning. They are taught by instructors from the Institute of Reading Development. Tuition varies by program and there is a family discount. For more information call 1-800-964-9974 or pick up a flyer in the guidance office.

BMW Scholars

Tri-County Tech will be hosting information sessions about the BMW Scholars Program for interested students in the Career Services office located in Miller Hall. This program is an apprenticeship program that allows students who are interested in manufacturing related degrees to attend class full-time while working part-time at BMW.

Spoleto Study Abroad

Spend an enriching summer with Spoleto Study Abroad's arts and humanities immersion program for high school students. Students and faculty will gather in the beautiful historic town of Spoleto, Italy to explore the art and culture of renaissance Italy. The program runs from July 6 - 31st, 2017 and offers the following programs: Instrumental Music, Photography, Visual Arts, Creative Writing, Vocal Music, Drama & Filmmaking.

Join the GIRLFORCE Jazzercise

Attention girls 16-21 years of age. The Clemson Jazzercise is offering a YEAR of FREE CLASSES as part of their GirlForce Initiative.  Classes are normally $45 - $55 per month. See Mrs. Meehan in the guidance office for more information.

CU Summer Scholars

Clemson University Summer Scholars is offering fun and educational residential programs in June, July and August for students entering 7th – 12th grades in the fall.
