This is the image for the news article titled Daniel Honored for Graduation Rate and AP ScoresPrincipal Josh Young of Daniel High School was recognized by the School Board on Monday for our extremely high graduation rate and large number of students passing AP exams.  For the Class of 2017, 91.5% of those who entered Daniel as freshmen were able to graduate successfully.  This was the highest total in the district and greatly exceeds the state average of approximately 80%.  Shown presenting an award to Mr. Young are Mr. Philip Bowers of the Pickens County School Board of Trustees and Dr. Danny Merck, the Superintendent of the School District of Pickens County.

In addition to the recognition for graduation rate, Mr. Young accepted an award for our Advanced Placement scores.  Daniel High had a total of 508 passing scores on AP exams last spring.  These courses are conducted under guidelines established by the College Board and allow some students to achieve college and university credits by scoring highly on the exams.
